These are four of the tightest races in this year's elections

Imagine waking up to a country that suppresses viruses, not votes, that listens to science, not conspiracy theories, and that stands with working-class Americans, not billionaires.

Dear MoveOn member,

We could be on the precipice of expanding the Democratic majority and sending to Washington the most progressive House of Representatives we've ever seen. But first we have to win four key toss-up races.

Cameron Webb in Virginia, Christina Hale in Indiana, Kara Eastman in Nebraska, and Dana Balter in New York are all running in razor-tight races to flip their congressional districts blue. Political analysts have called each of these races a "toss-up," which means one thing: With just 11 days left for campaigns to make decisions about where and how to spend their money, every dollar could make the difference between winning and losing.

Each of these candidates has an incredible story, which we'll tell you about in a moment, but first, can you rush $3 now to help put their campaigns over the top? 100% of your donation will be split evenly between the Webb, Eastman, Hale, and Balter campaigns in these crucial final days.

In each of these four races, the choice between two contrasting visions of America could not be more clear.

In Virginia, Dr. Cameron Webb, a practicing physician and former Obama administration public health official, has been on the front lines of this pandemic, caring for COVID-19 patients. He credits this hands-on experience with inspiring him to run for Congress so that he can expand opportunities for the health and success of all Americans. On the other hand, his Republican opponent Bob Good, a self-described "Biblical conservative," chose to get into the race because he was angry that his Republican primary opponent officiated at the same-sex marriage of two campaign volunteers.1

That's far from Good's only attack on the rights of LGBTQ+ Americans. He also voted to urge state and federal governments to "not recognize gender identity as a protected class" and to bar transgender people from public restrooms.2

In the heart of Mike Pence country in Indiana, Christina Hale is on the verge of wresting her district out of Republican control. A single mom who earned her college degree while balancing work and raising her son, Christina understands the challenges that are keeping American families awake at night. She knows firsthand what it means to live without insurance while on the brink of financial instability, and if elected, Christina will be a champion for access to affordable, quality health care for all Americans.

By contrast, her opponent wants to repeal the Affordable Care Act and has voted against requiring insurance companies to cover children with pre-existing conditions.3

Next, in Nebraska, progressive champion Kara Eastman is currently narrowly leading the race against the Republican incumbent, who votes with Trump 92% of the time.4 If elected, Kara, a social worker and advocate for safe, green housing, will be a champion for the environment, healthcare, and curbing the corruptive influence of money in politics.

Finally, in New York, Dana Balter is on the cusp of unseating three-time Republican incumbent, John Katko. A community organizer, Dana has spent her career fighting for people on the margins, drawing determination from her own family's story, whether it was learning from her grandparents who survived the Holocaust or standing up for her brother who was bullied for having cognitive disabilities. If elected, Dana will be a fierce fighter for Medicare for All, the Green New Deal, universal pre-K, and higher wages for workers.

Ready to help flip these districts? Chip in $3 today to defeat the GOP and send Dr. Cameron Webb, Christina Hale, Kara Eastman, and Dana Balter to Washington.

Mar, we know you're busy, but just take a second to imagine what we could achieve with bold progressive leaders at the helm of our country. Seriously, close your eyes and imagine waking up to a country that suppresses viruses, not votes, that listens to science, not conspiracy theories, and that stands with working-class Americans, not billionaires.

This is a reality that's well within our grasp. We just need to power through the next 11 days and do everything possible to elect leaders who will champion progressive values and fight for the rights, health, and livelihoods of all Americans.

Dr. Cameron Webb, Christina Hale, Kara Eastman, and Dana Balter are those types of leaders.

With only 11 days until this election is over, will you chip in $3 today to elect these four incredible candidates? 100% of your donation will go directly to these four candidates.

Thanks for all you do.

Livestream this Sunday with Senator Kamala Harris, Mark Ruffalo, and more

Will you join the Power in Action online rally series to find out how you can take action to make an America for all of us? RSVP now.

Dear MoveOn member,

Vice presidential candidate Senator Kamala Harris has a special message for MoveOn members. Join us Sunday night for our Power in Action get-out-the-vote livestream to hear directly from her and other special guests about what we can all do in the final 10 days of this election. Together, we're going to help put her and Joe Biden in the White House and elect Democrats up and down the ballot.

Will you join the Power in Action livestream series this Sunday to hear about what you can do to get the vote out in these final days?

Sen. Harris has had a long, powerful relationship with MoveOn members. She worked shoulder to shoulder with us to defend the Affordable Care Act, blunt attacks on immigrant rights, oppose Brett Kavanaugh's confirmation to the Supreme Court, and more. She's shared her vision for moving the country forward with MoveOn members on national organizing calls and as part of last year's Big Ideas Forum.

This Sunday, she'll deliver a special message to fuel our final get-out-the-vote efforts as we work together to power a blue wave that will sweep her and Joe Biden into the White House.

And that's not all. On Sunday's livestream, Senator Harris will also be joined by Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi, who made history as the first woman to hold her position and who has worked tirelessly with MoveOn members to pass and defend the Affordable Care Act. Speaker Pelosi will join us to talk about the stakes of the election, the fights ahead in the House and Senate, and what MoveOn members like you can do to make sure we win critical swing states no matter where we live.

Also on this week's call, you'll hear from Senator Cory Booker, Representative Ayannna Pressley, actor and activist Mark Ruffalo, expert Andy Slavitt, and more, as MoveOn members and friends rally for the final 10 days of the election!

Here's the full lineup:

  • Senator Kamala Harris, vice presidential candidate and a longtime MoveOn ally, who will talk about the stakes of this election and how you can maximize your impact in this historic moment.

  • Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, our leader in the defense against Trump's attacks on health care, who will talk about what this election will mean for Congress.
  • Actor and activist Mark Ruffalo, a leading voice on the climate crisis as well as a member of Marvel's Avengers, who will talk about the power of early voting and why our votes are power.

  • Andy Slavitt, one of the foremost experts on America's pandemic response, who will talk about the pandemic and its impact on voting.
  • And more, including the passionate Senator Cory Booker and inspiring first-term member of Congress Representative Ayanna Pressley.
With just days left to cast our ballots and ensure every vote is counted, it will take all of us doing our part—reaching out to our friends and families to encourage and support them to vote—to win this election, up and down the ballot. Sunday's livestream will give you all the information you need to help your friends and family make a plan to vote and use our power to transform our country.

Whether you're looking to get fired up or seeking concrete and impactful ways to take action, this is the livestream for you.

Want to support our work?As Robert Reich says, "No organization in America has a better track record of success in developing cutting-edge strategies to get out the vote and win elections than MoveOn." But it will take each of us doing our part to defeat Trump and flip the Senate!

Will you chip in $3 a week to help MoveOn combat right-wing lies, make sure every vote is counted, and win this election?

Count me in.

No, I'm sorry, I can't chip in weekly.

I'm not asking for money, but for something even more critical

I want to ask you a favor: Will you pledge to remind three friends to vote by November 3?

You never cease to amaze me, Mar.

You, working hand in hand with your family, your friends, your neighbors ... you always prove the power and resiliency of the American people.

In the midst of a global pandemic, you have gone the extra mile to take care of your community. You've taken to the streets to nonviolently demand justice and seek change. And now, during what might be the most consequential election in our lifetimes, you are standing up for a better America. An America where no one is unseen, no one is unheard, and no one is left behind.

In our darkest hours, we come together as a nation to lift each other up. This November, we must come together again to elect new leaders who will move our country forward, not further into the darkness. Now, we must make sure that our friends, family, and neighbors all have their voices heard.

And so I want to ask you a favor: Will you pledge to remind three friends to vote by November 3?

It's a simple ask, but it goes a long way, giving an extra nudge to those we care about to make sure that they have a say in what our future becomes. It's been proven that a simple reminder from a friend can significantly increase the likelihood of someone voting. And the team at MoveOn is running a smart, effective program to help support us all in following up on these reminders, making plans to vote, and ensuring every vote is counted.

The leaders we elect matter, Mar. Affordable health care, criminal justice reform, a stronger economy, and the willingness to acknowledge and address climate change matter. Each of us knows the urgency of this moment. Where we go as a nation will be determined by the choices we make in this election: whether we approach the future with fear, or with hope

After all this time, I still have hope. I have hope that the American people will come together and build a brighter future, not just for ourselves but for generations to come.

Take the pledge to remind three friends to vote by November 3.

Then text your group chat, post on social media, call your family members, and let your neighbors know that their vote is power. And let the team at MoveOn help you follow up with proven tactics to help voters get to the polls, get ballots in, and get votes counted.

Thank you.

–Barack Obama

BREAKING: Amy Coney Barrett

Moments ago, Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee voted unanimously to advance the nomination of Amy Coney Barrett to a lifetime appointment to the U.S. Supreme Court, which would cement a 6-3 ultraconservative majority on the court.

Dear MoveOn member,

Moments ago, Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee voted unanimously to advance the nomination of Amy Coney Barrett to a lifetime appointment to the U.S. Supreme Court, which would cement a 6-3 ultraconservative majority on the court.1 Mitch McConnell has already shamelessly announced that the full Senate will to vote to confirm her by Monday.2

Like many progressives around the country, you're probably filled with rage. And you're wondering how we respond. Here's how: by dealing a decisive blow to the GOP at the ballot box.

If you've been waiting to get involved, this is the moment. If you've already been working hard, this is the time to dig deeper. Everything is on the line—and for generations. Chip in $3 right now to defeat Trump, flip the Senate, and save our democracy.

The ugly truth is that there is little we can do to stop this illegitimate nomination. That's because Mitch McConnell is willing to abuse his power in every way, shape, and form to advance his extremist agenda.

But today is not a day for despair. It is a time for decisive action.

In just 12 days we have a chance to FINALLY defeat Trump and end Mitch McConnell's reign as Senate majority leader. In fact, four of the Republicans who just voted on this sham nomination—Lindsey Graham, Thom Tillis, Joni Ernst, and John Cornyn—are up for re-election this year.

And guess what? Each and every single one of them is in a razor-tight race.3 Together, we can sweep them out of office.

With only 12 days until the election, we're on an absolutely urgent time crunch. Please, rush a $3 donation right now to defeat the GOP.

Thanks for all you do.

When I last emailed you …

I'm Robert Fox, MoveOn's Chief Operating Officer. When I last emailed you several weeks ago, I promised that would be the last email I would send you this entire election cycle.

Dear MoveOn member,

I'm Robert Fox, MoveOn's chief operating officer. When I emailed you several weeks ago, I promised that would be the last email I would send you in this election cycle.

But, Mar, I'm emailing you once again, because this is incredibly urgent.

Today marks exactly two weeks until voting is over. That means we have only 14 days left to defeat Donald Trump. Only 14 days left to end Mitch McConnell's Senate GOP majority. Only 14 days. Let that sink in.

With the end of this election cycle just around the corner, MoveOn absolutely cannot slow down any of our crucial work (which you can read about below). This morning, I crunched the numbers, and we need to raise $541,643 by midnight tonight to keep our get-out-the-vote program running full steam ahead in these most critical final days.

So I have an urgent request: With just days left in this election, and with the clock quickly running out, will you rush a donation right now to power our work through the finish line?

If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:

I just finished an important phone call during which our incredible staff briefed me on the latest election efforts, and I want to share with you some of the amazing work that my colleagues at MoveOn are doing:

  • Erica, Emma, Erik, and RubĂ are leading a voter education texting campaign to make sure that millions of Democratic voters in swing states have the resources they need to ensure that their votes are cast and counted. Last Thursday, the team set a new record by texting an astounding 3.1 million voters in one day!
  • Dan just launched a multimillion-dollar TV, radio, and digital ad blitz in Senate swing states. Our ad campaign is so impactful that it made headlines in Politico, The New York Times, and The Washington Post!
  • Kate, Dom, Emily, and Chris are running an innovative get-out-the-vote program that has already recruited a stunning 690,182 volunteers to get three or more of their friends to the polls, focusing on reaching the most important voters in must-win swing states, to help deliver the margin of victory in those states.
  • Michael is partnering with celebrities, including Kerry Washington and Demi Lovato, to create digital content that reaches young voters and motivates them to cast their ballots.

In an election of this magnitude—where we have a choice between maintaining our democratic way of life or plunging our nation into four more years with a wannabe authoritarian—we must all step up and do absolutely everything in our power to win. That's why in this final stretch of the election, MoveOn is in overdrive and firing on all cylinders to win the White House and flip the Senate.

Please, don't sit this one out. And don't take anything for granted. Will you rush a donation today to power MoveOn's ambitious get-out-the-vote campaigns in these final 14 days?

If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:

This is the last email I will send you in this election cycle. I really promise this time (at least I hope so, if we hit our goal). So I want to end this email with a note of profound gratitude for all that you've done and all that we will do together in the next 14 days.

Working together, millions of MoveOn members, from small towns and large cities across this country, have powered the largest election program in MoveOn's entire history.

We've raised more than $5 million directly for bold, inspiring candidates up and down the ballot, and many are flipping seats from red to blue.

We've talked to millions of people—many of whom are ignored by the establishment—about the importance of voting this year.

We've taken to the streets to protect the Postal Service and save our democracy.

And in just two weeks, if we all keep doing our part, we will be able to say that we defeated Trump and ended McConnell's reign in the Senate.

And we will have achieved all of this the right way. The decent way. Not because we were bankrolled by billionaires and corporate executives who call the shots, but because tens of thousands of MoveOn members like you stepped up to the plate.

With just days left, will you dig deep and join the historic effort to win this election? You don't want to look back in 14 days and wish you had done more.

If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:

Thanks for all you do.

I'm voting because of the climate crisis

This election, we have a chance to build this America for all of us.

Dear MoveOn member,

This is actor and activist Mark Ruffalo, and I want to share why I'm voting early this election.

Mar, I want to live in an America where the climate crisis and climate policy are taken seriously, where our leadership has a clear plan to move us through a pandemic of unprecedented proportions, and where people can make the right choices for their own bodies and reproductive futures. I want to live in an America where my immigrant neighbors can live with dignity, where Black lives are valued and protected, and where our leaders aren't constantly trying to take health care away from tens of millions of Americans.

This election, we have a chance to build this America for all of us. But we can build this future together only if we all use our power and vote—and then encourage everyone we know to be a voter, vote early, and vote in-person if they can.

Are you the next voter in New York? Look up your polling location to make a plan to vote early or on November 3.

In the first presidential debate, Joe Biden said, "If you're able to vote early, vote early. If you're able to vote in person, vote in person." This is good advice.

More than 30 million Americans have already voted early in this election. This record-breaking turnout gives me hope that we have an opportunity to win this thing outright. We have so many reasons to be optimistic. We have the numbers on our side, a vision for justice and equality, and hope that we can build a better future together—but above all, we have dedicated progressive voters like you, ready to vote early across America.

Voting early in person is a good way to ensure sure your vote is received on time and processed securely. Donald Trump and Republicans are trying every dirty trick in the book to stop votes from Democrats from being cast. Voting early in person is a great way to get your vote in now.

States are taking real precautions to ensure voting is safe—including ensuring social distancing, masks, and regular disinfecting. Even if you have already requested your mail-in ballot, most states allow you to vote early in person or drop off your ballot in person—which avoids any challenges to your ballot later.

Make your plan to vote. Look up your polling place for early voting or Election Day voting, or where to drop off your ballot here.

Making a plan to vote is key to successfully casting a ballot, and you can be the person who helps your friends ensure their voices are heard this election. We know for a fact that people are more likely to vote when they are asked by friends or family. It's time to talk to your friends and family about voting, especially if they live in battleground states.

Sign up here to get three people in your life fired up about voting by November 3.

Together, we can use our votes to transform our communities.

Thanks for all you do.

—Mark Ruffalo

Want to support MoveOn's work? The MoveOn community will work every moment, day by day and year by year, to resist Trump's agenda, contain the damage, defeat hate with love, and begin the process of swinging the nation's pendulum back toward sanity, decency, and the kind of future that we must never give up on. And to do it we need your ongoing support, now more than ever. Will you stand with us?

Yes, I'll chip in $5 a month.
