Dear MoveOn member,
A friend recently introduced me to a classic Langston Hughes poem, "Let America Be America Again." Despite being nearly a century old, it's amazingly relevant today. The poem speaks beautifully to the American ideal, how our reality has fallen short of that, and how together we can make this country the country it has the potential to be.
MoveOn partnered with award-winning filmmaker Frank Chi and actress Alfre Woodard to turn the poem into a video just in time for July 4.

As we approach Independence Day, it's important that we reflect on what our country has become and what we can do to make it better. I hope that you'll take a moment to watch, discuss, and share the video with friends and family this weekend.
