Your small-business story could have a powerful impact on the health care debate.
Right now, insurance companies and special interests are spending more than $1.4 million dollars a day1 to water down health care reform and kill President Obama's public health insurance option.
The only way we can compete with their money and influence is to show so much public support that Republicans and conservative Democrats know they can't negotiate the public option away behind closed doors.
That's why this Thursday, July 9, MoveOn members are holding health care rallies at local Senate offices across the country. These rallies are the best way to show that the American people demand a strong public health insurance option.
Can you speak for just two to three minutes at Thursday's rally in Melville?
Host: Brenda R—fellow MoveOn member
Where: Sen. Charles Schumer's District Office
When: Thursday, Jul. 9, 2009, at 12:00 PM
Click here to RSVP—and make sure to click the checkbox saying that you're willing to share your story:
- Are you a small-business leader? Talk about how the costs of health care have affected your business. What would a public option mean to you?
- Do you have a personal health care story to share? Talk about your experiences with insurance companies and the health care system. How would a public health insurance option help you?
If you don't want to share a story, you can still make a big difference by simply showing up to help demonstrate to your senator and the media how important this issue is to folks in your community.
