Gov. Cuomo: Ban fracking now

Below is an email from Alex Beauchamp of the organization Food and Water Watch, who created a petition on SignOn.org, the nonprofit site that allows anyone to start their own online petition. If you have concerns or feedback about this petition, click here.

Dear New York MoveOn member,

With a thirty-day public comment period on new fracking regulations ending on January 11, we must generate thousands of public comments calling for a ban on fracking.

That's why I created a petition on SignOn.org to Governor Andrew Cuomo and Department of Environmental Conservation Commissioner Joe Martens, which says:

The Cuomo administration's proposed regulations (High Volume Hydraulic Fracturing-Revised Proposed Regs, ID No. ENV-39-11-00020-RP) cannot and will not make fracking safe. Fracking is an inherently dangerous process, and I urge this administration to call for a ban.

Thanks!
