The ad—airing on Facebook and on Hulu in the key swing state of Florida—shows how Trump's incompetence and short-sighted choices in the face of this deadly pandemic cost U.S. lives. When he should've been taking action and getting prepared, Trump instead chose to hold campaign rallies and play golf.

This ad is devastating for Trump, because the truth is as well: This administration's handling of the coronavirus pandemic has been a colossal dereliction of duty that has cost nearly 100,000 lives and sent our economy into a tailspin that's impacting hundreds of millions of Americans. 

While the World Health Organization, the Centers for Disease Control, and even administration officials were sounding alarms about the coronavirus as early as January, Trump consistently downplayed the threat—and then went off to play golf and hold campaign rallies. Now, we're all dealing with the consequences of his choices: Over a million sick, nearly 100,000 dead, and record unemployment and housing insecurity.

And to this day, Trump has still failed to muster an adequate response to the crisis, even as so many continue to lose their lives and livelihoods. He continues to spread misinformation, attack Democrats and the media, and do everything he can to avoid responsibility and the leadership that we so desperately need in this moment.

But we have a powerful tool that we can use to push back: making sure as many voters as possible know the truth.
