Friend, need you again

Hi, there!

In every election cycle since 2004, MoveOn members, including you, have stepped up big to help elect progressive champions.

This year is no different. With Republicans in the lead and only four weeks until Election Day, your skills and dedication are more important than ever. We're currently in the middle of a drive to make 5 million calls to progressive voters to help get out the vote this Election Day and save the Senate from a Republican takeover.

As a seasoned MoveOn caller, we need your help—starting this week. Are you available to make get-out-the-vote calls as part of MoveOn's Voters Rising campaign?

Yes, I can sign up to make calls starting this week.

Our new virtual calling tool makes calling even easier, and more productive, than in past years. All you need is the Internet and a phone—the system will dial for you automatically and connect you to the next live caller. No paper or manual dialing this year!

Our number-one objective is to help save the Senate from a crazy, right-wing takeover, and every call you make will get us one step closer.

Thanks for all you do.

–Matt

P.S. I'm forwarding a message below from Sister Simone Campbell of the Catholic social justice lobby NETWORK about our theme for this week: Getting big money out of politics by getting voters to the polls!

Can you join in and call voters this week to make sure they vote on Election Day?

Dear MoveOn member,

Today, a bus emblazoned with the words "We the People, We the Voters" is making stops in North Carolina. It's where you'll also find me—one of NETWORK's "Nuns on the Bus." We're now in our third week of a nationwide tour to 36 cities along 5,252 miles.

NETWORK is a Catholic social justice lobby, and if "Nuns on the Bus" sounds familiar, it's because our first bus tour launched two years ago after the Vatican famously criticized Catholic sisters—and NETWORK in particular. The charge: we're focusing too much on poverty and social justice—and not enough on other issues, such as abortion and gay marriage

Our response: use our sudden fame to advance justice for all even more boldly.

With Election Day 2014 fast approaching, we've hit the road again to speak out against big money in politics—and speak up for the most powerful lever in our democracy to fight back: voting.

Now, we're working with partners like MoveOn to spread the word and reach voters. Will you be a part of it and sign up to make calls to voters this week?

Yes, I'll sign up to make calls from home this week and get out the progressive vote.

Our message is simple: Vote! Encourage and help others to become voters! We need everyone to participate in our great democracy. It is what we need to "form a more perfect union."

So every vote counts, but none of us can do it alone. Every volunteer getting out the vote matters, too. That's why we're asking MoveOn members like you to pitch in this week, when the focus will be on getting "Voters In, Money Out"—even for just a few hours of calling voters directly from your home using MoveOn's automated platform.

Will you help? Here's where to sign up:

Yes, I'll sign up to call voters from home this week.

On this long journey, we're connecting with people from all walks of life. What we're hearing is what you might hear, too. Frustration from families working harder and harder but falling behind, while large corporations are making record profits. Disillusionment with a political process that's overrun with billionaires looking out for only themselves, not the common good. Disappointment when elected leaders put their wealthy donors ahead of everyone else's best interests.

We're also hearing the stirrings of hope from new and lifelong voters alike—about the possibilities of using our democracy to actually save our democracy. Dollars can't vote; we can.

So where does one begin? What are the first steps toward a democracy where everyone has a say, not just a wealthy few? It's simple: be a voter, and help others become voters.

Can you sign up with MoveOn's Voters Rising program to do just that?

Yes, I'll sign up to call voters from home and help get out the vote.

When I was at prayer one morning recently, I opened the scripture to "A sower went out to sow a seed." On this journey, we feel that we are sowing seeds of hope, engagement, and commitment across the country. It's a privilege and a treasure. Thank you for the opportunity to share in this moment with you—and to ask you to join us in our shared cause.

Onward together,

Sister Simone Campbell
