We're hosting a special live broadcast with Van on Sunday at 8 p.m. ET for everyone who signs up to make get-out-the-vote calls this weekend.

What you do, or don't do, in the next 19 days until Election Day in November is crucial. 

That's because we're facing the very real threat of a Republican Party overrun by radicals who oppose everything from jobs programs and sane climate solutions to a woman's right to use contraception. 

If there was ever a time for the 99% to rise up and strike back, this is it.

Now, let me explain. This isn't about the 99% versus the 1%. It's about the 99% fighting for the 100%—a nation we love in all of its multi-racial, multi-faith, gender fabulous, Twitter-addicted, and body-pierced glory. 

It's about everyday people fighting for an economy that works for everyone, not just the 1%. 

On the other side are politicians who stand with only the 1%. But the greater outrage is that they're rigging the game against the rest of us. Awash in right-wing billionaire and corporate cash, they're out to shrink the pie, hand it over to their wealthy donors, and toss the crumbs for everyone else to fight over.

That's not the vision for America I'd want for my children, or anyone's children.

Let's be real: no one is saying you can get everything you want just by voting. But you can lose everything you've got by not voting. If the political disaster for Democrats that pollsters are predicting comes to pass on November 4, we could be looking at economic disaster in December and well beyond.

The answer is simple: get out the progressive vote. Hold the Senate firewall. Democracy begins with being a voter—and bringing other voters into the game.

So from now until Sunday, I believe MoveOn members will rise to the occasion and make hundreds of thousands of calls to voters. Then, on Sunday, October 19, join me on the debrief session to discuss what's at stake and why we're all doing this.

Ultimately, our work together comes down to the values to which this great nation aspires. In America, all of us should have a fair shot at success no matter how much money we have, where we pray, who we love, or what our skin color looks like.

That is the vision for our country I'm fighting for.
