These stickers, with their beautiful and clear moral message, could not have arrived at a more urgent moment. Over the next few days, it's critical that our elected leaders of both major parties, the media, and our neighbors all feel the urgency for a clean Dream Act—and these stickers are a compelling, visual way to convey that message.
Right now, Congress has the power to pass a clean Dream Act that would protect two million immigrant youth from the fear of deportation. And every day that Congress fails to act, 122 Dreamers lose their DACA status—putting them at risk of deportation by Donald Trump's immigration force. Since September, when Trump ended the successful DACA program, more than 12,000 Dreamers have lost their status and, with it, their sense of security, safety, and ability to plan for the future.
But despite overwhelming support for this important legislation and the urgent need to pass it, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and House Speaker Paul Ryan have so far refused to bring the Dream Act to a vote by Congress. Now, as the year winds down, Congress has one last opportunity to pass the Dream Act before adjourning for the year.
That's why MoveOn members like you have stepped up in this crucial moment. Powerful videos created by MoveOn's videolab have been viewed more than 10 million times, and more than 250,000 people signed a petition to Congress demanding a clean Dream Act Now. MoveOn members have made more than 20,000 calls to Congress demanding action, and took part in dozens of legislative visits during the congressional recess—from Texarkana, TX, to Syracuse, NY.
Placing your sticker somewhere prominent will continue to build on the momentum needed to force Congress to act—and you'll show your community how much support there is for Dreamers. And sharing your photo online amplifies that impact.
