We've got a problem. Donald Trump met with Russian President Vladimir Putin today in a closed-door, one-on-one meeting—just three days after 12 of Putin's military intelligence officers were indicted by the Department of Justice for committing cybercrimes by attempting to influence the 2016 U.S. presidential election to help Trump.

Dear MoveOn member,

Treason isn't a word I use lightly. But right now I'm finding it hard to find any other word.

In front of the world's media, standing next to Russian President Vladimir Putin after their closed-door #TreasonSummit, Donald Trump said that he believes Putin over the findings of EVERY SINGLE U.S. intelligence agency that the Russian government committed cyber warfare against the U.S. in the 2016 presidential election.1

And this just three days after the Department of Justice formally indicted 12 Russian intelligence officers with exactly that.

Meanwhile, Trump still won't meet with special counsel Robert Mueller, the man leading the federal investigation into Russian interference and the Trump campaign's possible conspiracy with Russian agents.

I started a petition demanding Trump meet with Mueller and tell the truth. Will you join me in defending our democracy by signing?

We, the American people, demand that Trump meet with special counsel Robert Mueller and answer his questions about possible conspiracy with the Russian government to influence the 2016 presidential election and obstruction of justice to cover it up. It's imperative that federal investigators have all the information they need to get to the truth.

This is beyond unacceptable. We deserve to get the truth.

Trump has no problem meeting with Putin, whose government engaged in cyberwarfare to sow discord in our nation and help Trump become president—the same Putin who has committed human rights abuses against members of the LGBTQ community, jailed journalists, invaded Ukraine, attempted to execute a British informant with nerve agents, and attacked his political opposition.2

Yet Trump is running scared from a meeting with Mueller. In January, Trump said he would meet with Mueller and answer his questions under oath, yet he's backpedaled as Mueller's investigation has heated up. Now with 35 indictments, five guilty pleas, over 100 criminal charges, and Trump's campaign chair sitting in prison, Trump has publicly attacked the investigation and threatened to fire Mueller and his boss, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.3

The latest rounds of indictments on Friday exposed that on the same day that Trump asked Russia to find Clinton's missing emails, Russian intelligence agents hacked DNC and Clinton campaign emails. This begs the question: What did Trump know, and when did he know it?4

Join me in demanding an answer. Sign the petition calling on Trump to meet with Mueller!

The American people need to know the truth. Let's make sure we get it.

Thanks for taking action.
