Hotels have no place in Trump's hateful policies attacking immigrants. Hotel companies should publicly refuse to allow any of their properties to contract with ICE, and deny any assistance in the deportation of people and families.

Dear fellow MoveOn member,

The Trump administration has been threatening ICE raids targeting families for the past few weeks. In fact, they targeted a South Asian restaurant in Washington, D.C., last week. This very well could be the beginning of more ICE raids to come and yet another escalation in the hateful policies this administration is using to attack immigrants and separate families. 

ICE needs hotel rooms to execute their raids. People are picked up by ICE and then placed in hotel rooms as temporary jails, where they are unable to leave and guarded by federal agents, often for an indefinite amount of time.

Hotel companies and chains need to stand up to this administration and not be a part of these hateful policies. 

Sign this petition demanding that nine major hotel chains not participate in any present or future ICE raids.

ICE is still planning to execute raids to deport children and families. Whether it happens in a few days or in two months, using hotel rooms as temporary jails is a crucial part of this plan, because ICE cannot legally hold children in its adult detention facilities. Hotels should put people over profits and publicly refuse to work with ICE to execute Trump's disgusting attack on immigrant families.

We are currently aware of nine hotel chains that run the low-cost properties most likely to be used by ICE, and we are calling on each of them to publicly promise that they won't participate in the planned raids on families and kids. These include Best Western Hotels and Resorts, Choice Hotels (EconoLodge, Comfort Inn, Quality Inn, Sleep Inn), Drury Hotels, G6 Hospitality (Motel 6), Hilton (Hampton Inn, Embassy Suites), InterContinental Hotels Group (Holiday Inn), Marriott (Courtyard, Fairfield), Red Roof, and Wyndham Hotels (Days Inn, Ramada, Super 8, Howard Johnson, La Quinta). Businesses have a social responsibility to their communities, and they should not be complicit in the caging and detention of anyone.
