Dear MoveOn member,
The Amazon rainforest is on fire, and big agribusiness is to blame. These fires have been intentionally set to make a profit.
Financial institutions must shift their investments away from the industries that are currently destroying the vital Amazon rainforest and the homes of its indigenous inhabitants.
Many big-bank finance institutions, like JPMorgan Chase, invest in agribusiness and fossil fuel activities that actively violate indigenous peoples' rights and are further exacerbating the impacts of climate change. The Amazon rainforest is burning down as we speak, and big banks need to stop providing the money as fuel for these fires.
Some of the biggest banks and investors in the world, like JPMorgan Chase, BlackRock, BNP, HSBC, and Santander are the driving force behind deforestation and increasing fossil fuels.
These investors not only enable the destruction of forests and climate, they profit from it. The Amazon has been described as the lungs of our planet. As you read this, we're losing them. These fires impact each and every one of us, and it's time every one of us takes a stand against the banks causing this climate disaster.
Take action now: Tell these big investors to STOP using your money to destroy the Amazon rainforest!
Thanks!
