TODAY: Global solidarity and coronavirus forum w/ Rep. Ilhan Omar

Join us at 3 p.m. ET on Facebook Live to hear from voices at the intersection of militarism, coronavirus, and U.S. foreign policy.

Dear MoveOn member,

The COVID-19 coronavirus is continuing to sweep across the globe, and nations have different resources to address the pandemic.

Afghanistan, neighboring Iran, has tested only 250 people.1

Iraq's morgues are filling up, as religious leaders are unsure how to hold funerals safely.2

But even as we see this pandemic spread, we're seeing acts of unprecedented global solidarity and kindness.

The EU donated $22 million to Iran last week for humanitarian aid and skirted U.S. sanctions to send Iran medical equipment.3

Doctors from Cuba traveled to Italy to join their efforts to contain the virus.

It's clear that this moment demands global cooperation and a shift in what U.S. global leadership can and must look like.

This coalition is a new collective of grassroots global leaders, including: About Face: Veterans Against the War, Adalah Justice Project, Grassroots Global Justice, Dissenters, MADRE, Stand With Kashmir, Center for Constitutional Rights, Ambazonian Prisoners of Conscience, Veterans for Peace, Nodutdol for Korean Community Development, War Resisters League, Voices of the Sacred, Palestine Youth Movement, Win Without War, Institute of Policy Studies, MoveOn, Uprooted & Rising, and Women Cross DMZ.

The event will be hosted by Marc Lamont Hill (BET News) and speakers will include: Representative Ilhan Omar (D-MN5), Ramah Kudaimi (War Resisters League), Reece Chenault (Justice Before Peace), Barbara Ransby (Rising Majority), Krystal Two Bulls (Voice of the Sacred), Brittany DeBarros (About Face: Veterans Against the War), and others.

Thanks for all you do.
