Yesterday, despite Donald Trump's five-week-long temper tantrum, Rudy Giuliani's baseless lies, and the complicity of the Republican Party, the Electoral College officially certified that on January 20, Joe Biden will be inaugurated as the 46th president of the United States!1
Trump and his campaign filed at least 59 pathetic lawsuits to try to overturn the results, all but one of which have been thrown out—including cases before the Supreme Court, which he has packed with conservative justices.2
It's over. He may continue to spew conspiracy theories on Twitter, but it does not change the facts: Trump lost. We defeated him. And in just 36 days, he will no longer live in the White House.

Even after he lost at the ballot box, Trump tried everything to undermine the will of the people, and although he lost (over and over again) in the courts, he did succeed in getting Republican elected officials to fall in line behind him and support his ludicrous attempts to dismantle our democracy.
Which means that even with Trump's presidency finally over, our work is not yet done. Just like we dumped Trump, we now need to turn our sights toward the members of Congress who clung to him and the state and local officials attempting to emulate him. We've got to dump them, too.
