Tell Rep. Jared Polis to stand up for immigration reform

House Speaker John Boehner is stalling comprehensive immigration reform. But there is a way to bypass him. House Democrats can introduce the broadly supported Senate bill and file what's called a "discharge petition." We need just 218 votes—every Democrat and 17 Republicans—and then the House can vote on comprehensive immigration reform.

MoveOn members across the country are signing this petition from Michelle Medina, a fellow MoveOn member in Boulder, CO, asking Rep. Jared Polis, a leader within the New Democrat Coalition, to stand up for comprehensive immigration reform by supporting a discharge petition. Click here to sign the petition.

Dear Inwood MoveOn member,

I'm Michelle Medina, a MoveOn member in Boulder, CO, and I started a petition to Rep. Jared Polis (CO-2), which says:

A discharge petition is the most viable option to pass comprehensive immigration reform this fall. It only takes 218 votes to file a discharge petition—that's every Democrat in Congress and 17 Republicans. Support for the discharge petition is growing in the media and among members of Congress. Therefore, I am requesting that you sign on as a supporter of the discharge petition for comprehensive immigration reform . Sincerely,

Thanks!
