Igniting a movement for refugee children

Dear MoveOn member,

Thousands of MoveOn members like you just took an important action to help children seeking refuge in the United States. Together, we've raised more than $100,000 to ensure these children have the legal representation and support they need for the immigration hearings that their lives may depend on.

By supporting the work of Kids in Need of Defense (KIND), the MoveOn community made a big impact for hundreds of children facing an uncertain future. Now, a KIND pro bono coordinator can accept more than 100 new children into their program and mentor dozens of new volunteer attorneys. These children—some of whom have traveled hundreds of miles without a parent to escape unspeakable violence—will have the legal support they need when they face an immigration judge.

Watch this video message from Angela, a child who escaped violence in Central America and had an attorney by her side for her immigration hearing, thanks to KIND.

Together, we're making sure more children like Angela have the support they need when they face an immigration judge.

We're also hearing of other ways we can support these kids—from recruiting pro bono lawyers to sending personal messages of support. If you're interested in doing more, watch the video and then take a quick survey to share what you can do help.

Thanks for all you do.

–Anna, Corinne, Rosy, Bobby, and the rest of the team
