Will you sign and share my petition demanding Congress refuse to fund Trump's mass deportation machine?

Dear MoveOn member,

ICE agents are out of control: terrorizing communities by showing up at schools, places of worship, and even hospitals—even targeting activists and community organizers.¹ 

But instead of reining in federal immigration agents that are tearing families apart, Congress is considering massive increases in funding for new ICE and border patrol agents, more money to an immigration detention system known for its abuse and mismanagement, and funding other wasteful and dangerous border militarization, including the border wall.² 

Will you sign and share my petition demanding Congress refuse to fund Trump's mass deportation machine before I hand-deliver the signatures this week?

Stop adding millions of dollars to Trump's mass deportation machine which attacks immigrant families. Demand cuts in the budgets for detention beds, ICE and CBP agents, and border militarization.

Congress has failed to pass permanent protections for immigrant youth, TPS holders, and many other members of our communities. ICE and CBP under the Trump administration have put the detention and deportation machine on steroids, continuing to ramp up aggressive and hateful raids and other immigration enforcement, hide information from the American public, and retaliate against anyone who speaks out. 

Congress must take steps now to cut funding for both CBP and ICE and, instead, invest that money in vital housing, education, nutrition, and health care programs that help communities grow and thrive together. 

Add your name to the petition before we hand-deliver signatures this week to Congress. Join us in demanding your representative and senators #DefundHate by publicly calling for significant cuts to the detention and deportation machine and opposing any funding bill which wastes taxpayer dollars on this unaccountable and abusive system.
