Dear MoveOn member,

I want to make sure you knew that the House of Representatives voted to approve my resolution to terminate Trump's unfounded, unconstitutional emergency declaration last week.

We are now counting on the Senate to show similar bipartisan support.

Sign the petition to make sure your voice is heard.

Please sign to support the resolution to terminate Trump's emergency declaration under 50 U.S.C. 1622. (National Emergencies Act).

I'm the chairman of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, vice chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, and a member of the House Intelligence Committee and the Education and Labor Committee.

So let's be honest and recognize that border crossings are lower than they have been in four decades, and there are more law enforcement officers at the border than ever before.

We don't need a wall. It's just a symbol of an anti-immigrant agenda which has run through the Trump White House and many right-wing circles for years.

Such a baseless declaration by Trump would set a dangerous precedent regarding the constitutional balance of powers between the executive and legislative branches.

Sign the petition to stop the emergency order.

Thank you.

–Rep. Joaquin Castro
