Mitch McConnell is in serious, serious trouble

A shocking poll shows Mitch McConnell LOSING to his Democratic opponent, Amy McGrath.

Dear MoveOn member,

A shocking poll shows Mitch McConnell LOSING to his Democratic opponent, Amy McGrath.1

Mitch McConnell is furious ... but the bad news for Mitch doesn't stop there.

Poll after poll, it is becoming clear that we've NEVER been this close to ending McConnell's right-wing reign as Senate majority leader. Even one of McConnell's top aides admitted that "the Senate is absolutely at risk of going Democratic."2

  • In Arizona, once a ruby-red Republican state, Democrat Mark Kelly—a gun control activist and former astronaut—is beating right-wing Senator Martha McSally by NINE points in the polls.3
  • In Maine, GOP Senator Susan Collins—who single-handedly confirmed Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court—is trailing her leading Democratic opponent by four points.4
  • In Colorado, GOP Senator Cory Gardner—one of the most vulnerable GOP senators up for re-election—is falling behind his Democratic opponent.5
  • In Montana, Democrat Steve Bullock—who led the effort to expand access to Medicaid to over 90,000 Montanans—is beating out GOP Senator Steve Daines, who supports repealing Obamacare and leaving millions uninsured.6

We have a real shot at ending GOP control of the Senate and terminating McConnell's extremist tenure as Senate majority leader, but there's one big challenge: Montana, Colorado, and other Senate battleground states will not decide the presidential election in 2020, but these crucial states will determine who controls the Senate. That means that MoveOn will need consistent, recurring contributions to fund an entirely different array of campaign tactics—paying for polls and ads, producing hard-hitting videos ... you name it—from now until Election Day, all without taking away resources needed to beat Donald Trump.

On average, MoveOn's monthly donors chip in about $12 a month. Will you chip in $12 a month to MoveOn's Senate Battleground Fund to seize this golden opportunity and help end the GOP's control of the Senate?

Yes, I'll chip in monthly.

No, I'm sorry, I can't make a monthly donation.

Election campaigns like this are incredibly expensive. To win, we must educate voters about how to vote by mail in their state, pay for research to determine which messages are most persuasive to voters, fund hard-hitting ads on TV, and more—without diverting a dime away from our plans to defeat Trump.

One political operative said, "This is going to be one of those bloodbath elections, and money is going to play a big role."7

MoveOn doesn't take a cent of corporate cash, so we rely on grassroots donations from members like you to power our campaigns. Due to the pandemic and Trump's disastrous response, many families are hurting, and we understand if you can't make a donation today.

Can you chip in $12 a month to help end McConnell's reign as Senate majority leader and flip the Senate? (The average gift from a MoveOn monthly donor is about $12 a month, but whatever you can afford will go a long way.)

Yes, I'll chip in monthly.

No, I'm sorry, I can't make a monthly donation.

Mar, please remember that even if Joe Biden beats Trump this November, we will have no shot at passing real progressive legislation—from gun control to protections for immigrants and refugees—if Mitch and the GOP still control the Senate.

In fact, McConnell openly brags that he's the "Grim Reaper" for popular, progressive, House-passed bills, from protecting voting rights and cracking down on corruption in Washington.

We CANNOT let this golden opportunity to end GOP control of the Senate slip through our fingers On average, MoveOn's monthly donors chip in about $12 a month. Will you chip in $12 a month to MoveOn's Senate Battleground Fund to end the GOP's control of the Senate?

Yes, I'll chip in monthly.

No, I'm sorry, I can't make a monthly donation.

Thanks for all you do.
