Saturday in Inwood: Save the Post Office

Hundreds of Save the Post Office events are happening across the country tomorrow. Will you join?

Dear MoveOn member,

The post office is an essential institution that millions of Americans depend on. That's why the Trump administration's recent attacks on the post office have become a clarion call to action. Together, with thousands of MoveOn members across the country, we're going to send our message loud and clear that Trump's attacks must stop and that Postmaster General Louis DeJoy must resign.

There are more than 500 events happening in communities all over the country—from Naalehu, HI, to Bangor, ME, and hundreds of cities in between.

Will you sign up to attend a Save the Post Office event near you?

Yes, I will join a Save the Post Office event in my neighborhood.

No, I cannot attend an event, but I would like to support in other ways.

Saving the post office is part of defending our democracy; millions of people will depend on the mail to cast their ballots this election.

Not only that, the post office is a necessary staple in rural and Indigenous communities and a crucial service for seniors and people with disabilities. And the Postal Service employs over 640,000 people, 39% of whom are people of color, 40% of whom are women, and 16% of whom are military members or veterans.1,2

Trump's attacks on the post office are a racial and economic justice issue, and it will take all of us, working together, to protect and restore this beloved institution.

All event participants will be expected to wear a mask, maintain social distancing, and follow all local safety guidelines. By RSVPing, you'll ensure that everyone can respect physical distancing recommendations during the pandemic.

Will you RSVP now to join a local Save the Post Office event tomorrow, Saturday, August 22?

Thanks for all you do.
