Dear fellow MoveOn member,
I'm Shahana Hanif, a MoveOn member in Brooklyn, New York, and I started a petition after learning that people at Metropolitan Detention Center have been without heat and electricity for days.1 This is unacceptable.
People in prison also have basic human rights. No one should be forced to go without heat in this freezing weather! It's up to us to make sure Metropolitan Detention Center turns on the electricity and heat.
We can't be silent. Take action now.
Thanks!
—Shahana Hanif
