This will end Mitch McConnell's majority

Donald Trump has been defeated, and the minute the race was called, millions of Americans poured into the streets to celebrate.

Dear MoveOn member,

Donald Trump has been defeated, and the minute the race was called, millions of Americans poured into the streets to celebrate.

But our work is not finished until we defeat Mitch McConnell as Senate majority leader—and the battle for control of the Senate will come down to two tough but winnable runoff elections in the state of Georgia on January 5. If Democrats win both races, Mitch McConnell's majority is finished.

We know we can win in Georgia because we just did. Georgia just went blue for the first time since 1992, in large part due to years of voter registration work to turn Georgia blue led by Stacey Abrams and other grassroots organizations focused on turning out Georgia voters.

But Republicans always have an advantage in special elections, because those races tend to have lower voter turnout than presidential elections. Young voters, low-income people, and other key Democratic constituencies who showed up for Joe Biden need to show up again in January—or else Mitch McConnell will retain his majority and spend the next two years blocking everything, just as he did under President Obama.

Will you chip in $3 to help the Democratic candidates, Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock, have the resources to run a get-out-the-vote operation just as big as the one we used to beat Trump in Georgia? Your donation will be split 50/50 between the Ossoff and Warnock campaigns.

Yes, I'll donate to help win the Georgia U.S. Senate special elections and end Mitch McConnell's control of the Senate.

It wasn't long ago that no one outside of the state thought Democrats even had a chance in Georgia. Then Stacey Abrams, building off of the work of other local activists, launched the most transformative voter registration campaign we've ever seen.

She took on the state's long and sorry history of voter purges, polling place closures, and four-hour-long lines to vote, and in 2018 came within a whisker of winning the governorship herself. In fact, if it hadn't been for the dirty voter suppression tactics of her opponent—then-Secretary of State Brian Kemp—she would have won.

Now, Joe Biden has beaten Trump in Georgia with huge turnout from the voters Stacey Abrams helped sign up to vote. And now we can finish the job by electing Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock—and ending Mitch McConnell's control of the Senate.

Republicans will have unlimited amounts of corporate money to get out their base, and we need to help the Democratic candidates, Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock, match them. Will you chip in $3?

Yes, I'll donate $3 to help win the Georgia U.S. Senate runoffs and end Mitch McConnell's control of the U.S. Senate.

Thanks for all you do.
