What's your Social Security, Medicare, or Medicaid story?

Dear MoveOn member,

Last year, you responded to the email below asking you to share your personal story about what Social Security, Medicare, or Medicaid means to you.

Thanks to the courage and generosity of folks like you, MoveOn members were a big part of preventing any cuts to these critically important programs. But now, we're stuck again having to fend off Social Security and Medicare benefit slashes from Republicans—and misguided Democrats—as politicians engage in the latest round of budget negotiations.

You'd better believe that MoveOn members are planning to stand and fight just like last time. In fact, we're already going on offense this round to demand that Congress expand Social Security, not cut it.

But to do that it's crucial that we highlight to our lawmakers the real human costs of these reckless cuts. Can you step up again to protect Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid by sharing your story today?

Thanks for all you do.

–Mark, Stefanie, Manny, Nick, and the rest of the team

Dear MoveOn member,

Do you have a personal story about what Social Security, Medicare or Medicaid has meant in your life?

We're about to face our toughest fight yet to protect these programs from devastating cuts. The best way to fight back is to tell the real stories of what those cuts would mean for American families as loudly and as passionately as possible.

If you have a story you'd be willing to share, please do so here:

There are indications that, as part of negotiations happening right now about the so-called "fiscal cliff," Congress is considering making cuts to Social Security, Medicare, or Medicaid benefits—hurting the seniors and working people who have already suffered the most during the recession. We're looking for stories from MoveOn members to highlight in order to make sure Congress understands what's really at stake.

Do you or a loved one rely on Social Security, Medicare, or Medicaid benefits? How have those programs helped you or your family? What do you think about the possibility that Republicans and some Democrats are willing to cut those benefits?

You can share your story by clicking this link:

Thank you!
Justin
