Elmhurst: The moment we've been waiting for

In the next few weeks, the Senate will vote on both health care and clean energy. On Sunday, Jul. 12, 2009, at 3:00 PM in Elmhurst, we're setting our local strategy to win. Can you be there?

Dear MoveOn member,

This is the moment we've been waiting for.

In the next four weeks, the Senate is planning to vote on both health care and clean energy—our biggest priorities.

And this week, The Washington Post reported on what we're up against: Industry lobbyists are planning to spend $1.4 million a day to stop Obama's agenda on these key issues.1

That's why MoveOn members are getting together in Elmhurst on Sunday to chart our strategy for the history-making month ahead, focusing on Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand's role in shaping the health care and clean energy bills.

Can you make it? Here are the details:

Host: Jennie S.—fellow MoveOn member
Where: Georgia Diner- Elmhurst/ Queens Blvd (in Elmhurst)
When: Sunday, Jul. 12, 2009, at 3:00 PM

If we succeed, we'll change our country forever. But it will take every last one of us to win.

The only way to change the status quo is to make sure the most influential members of Congress are hearing from us—loudly—at all the right moments.

Can you join in this important strategic briefing on Sunday in Elmhurst? We'll make plans for the next local event so we can hit the ground running.
