Sign the petition: Tell Coca-Cola to stop funding anti-democracy Republicans

Coca-Cola and other major funders of the anti-democracy GOP must end all contributions to Republicans pushing anti-voting legislation.

Dear fellow MoveOn member,

In late March, Republicans in Georgia passed a Jim Crow voter suppression law designed to limit voting access and voting rights that will intentionally and disproportionately affect people of color and low-income workers.1

In response, corporations headquartered in Atlanta like Coca-Cola and Delta issued press releases in which they trumpeted their belief that voting is a fundamental right. Yet, Coca-Cola—which said, "We want to be crystal clear and state unambiguously that we are disappointed in the outcome of the Georgia voting legislation"—has donated tens of thousands of dollars to 29 legislators who co-sponsored the bills to restrict ballot access and voting rights in Georgia.2,3

Press releases, like thoughts and prayers, aren't enough. Coca-Cola and other major funders of the anti-democracy GOP must end all contributions to Republicans pushing anti-voting legislation. Continued support of Republicans who are actively destroying voting rights—and thus our democracy—is hypocritical. It's past time for corporations like Coca-Cola to put action behind these words.

Coca-Cola: You must act to end all funding of Republicans—at both the state and federal levels—who are working to restrict ballot access and erode the right to vote, and strongly support the voting rights bills now in Congress.

Coca-Cola and many other corporations are enabling and financing the destruction of democracy through contributions to Republican committees, candidates, and legislators who repeatedly attack democracy and limit our freedom to vote. It's not enough to issue belated press statements against voter suppression laws being enacted across the country. Corporations must end all funding of anti-democracy Republicans.

Thanks!
