President Biden must speak out against the blockade on Yemen and end all U.S. support for the Saudi-led blockade that is starving the Yemeni people of basic necessities. 

Dear MoveOn member,

The Yemeni Liberation Movement was on a hunger strike from March 29 to April 22, 2021. We demand President Biden speak out publicly against the blockade of Yemen and end all U.S. support for this Saudi-led blockade that has been starving and harming millions of people. 

Yemenis face the world's worst humanitarian crisis and one of the highest rates of child malnutrition in the world. As recently reported, the "Integrated Food Security Phase Classification, the world's top authority on food security, said last year that 47,000 Yemenis were suffering from famine-like conditions and that more than 16 million—over half of Yemen's population—couldn't reliably and adequately feed themselves."¹ UNICEF projects that of the 12 million children in Yemen needing assistance, nearly 2.3 million children under the age of 5 will suffer from acute malnutrition in 2021 and nearly 400,000 could die without urgent treatment.²

This is a human-caused humanitarian crisis driven by the Saudi government and tacit support from the U.S. government. President Biden can and must speak out, change course, and end this suffering.

Our demands have still not been met by the Biden administration.

President Biden must speak out against the blockade on Yemen and end all U.S. support for the Saudi-led blockade that is starving the Yemeni people of basic necessities. 

The U.S.-backed Saudi coalition has been slaughtering the Yemeni people for six years now, and it escalated to a deadly fuel blockade in December.

Yemenis have been deprived of their basic human rights of water, food, electricity, and life at the hands of the U.S.-funded onslaught. This is simply unacceptable, and the blockade must come to an end immediately.
