After an election like this one, there's only one thing to do: EAT!
Well, eat and figure out together how we're going to get our country back on track.
Republicans are promising "no compromise" on repealing health care reform and giving another big tax bailout to millionaires. We need to show President Obama that we want him to fight—and that we'll support him if he does.
So on Sunday, November 14, we're organizing "Potlucks for Progress" around the country to share some home cooking and figure out together what comes next.
Can you host a potluck? We want to make sure progressives in Inwood have a place to gather. Click the link if you can host:
Hosting a potluck is super-easy and fun. All you have to do is provide the space and some plates and silverware to eat with, and we'll do all the recruitment to let people know the event is happening.
The best time to hold your potluck is at 7 p.m. Eastern Time (that's 4 p.m. Pacific Time), when we'll have a live conference call with a special guest (to be announced).
Lots of people need a breather after working day and night for weeks or months. But this is no time to let down our guard. The Republicans have already shown that they will do nothing but obstruct and attack. We need to show President Obama that if he fights back, progressives will stand behind him.
These potlucks will be the first important step to fight back and get America back on track. Can you host a potluck in Inwood?
Thanks for all you do.
