I will personally deliver signatures to Congress on whether to investigate Trump's corruption

Will you add your name to the push to force an investigation into Donald Trump's financial conflicts of interest and ties to the Russian government?

Dear MoveOn member,

Congress must investigate Donald Trump. Nearly daily, revelations make an independent, immediate investigation all the more critical. And tomorrow, the House Judiciary Committee will vote on my "Resolution of Inquiry" that would start such an investigation.

However, Republicans in Congress have shown no willingness to investigate Donald Trump's financial conflicts of interest and ties to the Russian government—despite a massive public outcry—which is why they are trying to quietly bury my bill. We can't let that happen.

Will you add your name to this petition today, and share it with your friends, so we can reach a half million by tomorrow's press conference? I'll personally deliver these signatures to Congress right before the committee vote.

More than 400,000 MoveOn members have already signed a petition calling for this investigation—and on Tuesday, I'll be holding a press conference to make sure the public and the media know that there is an avenue to investigate, that the American people want to know the truth, and that it's the Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee who are standing in the way.

We're far from finished in our pursuit of truth, and this resolution is one step in making sure every member of Congress takes a public stance on calling for an independent investigation. When it comes to Russia, to foreign entanglements, to financial dealings, we deserve to know what Trump knew, when he knew it, and what he might be hiding.

Add your name to this push for a full, immediate, independent investigation. Click here to sign.

Thanks.

—Congressman Jerry Nadler

P.S. You can see MoveOn's original email from two weeks ago below about the petition which has already been signed by more than 400,000 MoveOn members.

Dear MoveOn member,

Yesterday, Representative Jerry Nadler took the extraordinary step of filing a "resolution of inquiry" in the U.S. House that could force a House investigation into Donald Trump's financial conflicts of interest and ties to the Russian government.1

Media reports have called Rep. Nadler's action the "most aggressive move" yet by Democrats.2

Add your name now to send a message to lawmakers and the national media: The American people won't rest until Donald Trump is held accountable for his unprecedented ethics and constitutional violations.

Vote in favor of a House investigation into Donald Trump's financial conflicts of interest and ties to the Russian government.

If Rep. Nadler is successful, the Department of Justice will have "to provide Congress with the basic information required to conduct an inquiry into President Trump and his associates' conflicts of interest, ethical violations—including the Emoluments Clause—and connections to the Russian government."3 The DOJ will also have to provide information related to "any criminal or counterintelligence investigation targeting President Donald J. Trump, National Security Advisor Michael Flynn, Paul Manafort, Carter Page, Roger Stone, or any employee of the Executive Office of the President."4

This could be the breakthrough needed for the American people to learn the full extent of Trump's unconstitutional activity. The House Judiciary Committee has 14 legislative days to respond to Rep. Nadler's request, or it will automatically go to the full House for a vote, forcing Republicans to grapple with and vote on whether they are going to take seriously and investigate—or continue to ignore—Trump's flagrant ethical and constitutional violations.

Refusing to divest from his businesses, discussing development deals with world leaders, promoting his daughter's business via governmental communications channels, and refusing to show his taxes so the public can understand his financial entanglements are just a few of the concerns that demand a full investigation and public accountability.

Add your name now to help create a massive wave of support and media attention to make sure House members understand that the American people demand a timely and thorough investigation of Donald Trump.

Anything short of that is a complete abdication of their oversight responsibility—and we will hold them accountable accordingly.

Thanks for all you do.
