There's an important election happening on Saturday that'll help answer that question. The contest over who will be elected Chair of the Democratic National Committee has become a fight over whether the Democratic Party can serve as an unapologetic ally to the fired-up grassroots progressive movement and become a people-powered alternative to Trump in all corners of the country—or whether it risks failing to meet the moment.

That's why an extraordinary coalition including MoveOn, progressive Senators Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, progressive groups like Democracy for America, Progressive Change Campaign Committee, 350 Action, Working Families Party, labor partners like CWA and the AFL-CIO, supporters of both Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton, and many more communities and organizations have all united in support of Keith Ellison for DNC chair.

The DNC chair is chosen by 447 DNC members from across the country. The Ellison team and allies have been privately reaching out to these members and earning support for months. But there are still dozens of undecided DNC members and the race for chair is going to go down to the wire.

That’s why it’s important to make as much noise on social media as possible ahead of the DNC vote on Saturday. We need to make sure that every DNC member knows that the grassroots of the broad progressive movement in this country supports Keith Ellison—and we need them to hear Ellison's vision to make the Democratic Party a vehicle for an inclusive populist agenda that can take on Trump, take back power, and take our country forward.
