Dear MoveOn member,
When Justice Kennedy retired in June, we knew that we would have to fight tooth and nail to block whoever the dangerous conservative was that Trump would chose to replace him. With the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh, all of our fears were realized—and so much more—which is why we cannot give an inch in the battle to protect the future of the Supreme Court.
Kavanaugh was hand-picked for the bench by the powerful anti-abortion organization the Federalist Society, and he is likely to be the deciding vote to overturn Roe v. Wade and further limit women's access to safe and legal abortion. Donald Trump said during the campaign that Roe would "automatically" be overturned if he were elected, because "I am putting pro-life justices on the Court."1
Under no circumstances should Brett Kavanaugh be confirmed to take a seat on the Supreme Court—especially when cases are already moving through the lower courts that could trigger the criminalization of abortion if they reach the Supreme Court. We need to get the message out far and wide—right now—to stop the Senate from confirming Kavanaugh. That's why we have printed a big batch of stickers featuring the design below and giving them away for free.
Thanks for all you do.
