Target: Stop Selling Roundup! (petition)

Target is still selling this weedkiller in their stores, knowing that there is a risk of cancer. This is beyond unacceptable. Target needs to stop selling a cancer-causing substance immediately.

Dear fellow MoveOn member,

Target is continuing to sell RoundUp, a weedkiller that has been linked with causing Non-Hodgkin lymphoma. There are numerous cases against Monsanto in both federal and state courts, arguing that the plaintiff's cancer is directly linked to the glyphosate that is used in RoundUp. This is after the World Health Organization said that the glyphosate used in RoundUp could cause cancer.1

Target is still selling this weedkiller in their stores, knowing that there is a risk of cancer. This is beyond unacceptable. Target needs to stop selling a cancer-causing substance immediately.

Sign this petition and tell Target to stop selling this dangerous product in its stores, especially when it has been directly linked to causing cancer.

Most recently, a federal jury stated that RoundUp was a substantial factor in causing a man's cancer. The case is now in it's second phase, where the jury will decide if Monsanto is liable. Public health is not something to take lightly, especially when this product is potentially leading to life-threatening disease.

In fact, this is the second case where a Monsanto was sued for their use of glyphosate in RoundUp. Previously, Monsanto paid out $78 million to a groundskeeper that used RoundUp on a regular basis to maintain the land in his charge. The man was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and in the case, his cancer was directly linked to his use of RoundUp.

Target needs to disband their relationship with Monsanto and should stop selling RoundUp immediately. There are clear health and environmental issues with RoundUp, and Target needs to play their part in making sure that consumers are protected.

Thanks!
