[Call alert] Tell Congress to pass essential coronavirus relief NOW

Senate Republicans are preparing to block essential, common-sense policies to confront the growing coronavirus pandemic

Dear MoveOn member,

Paid emergency leave. Free coronavirus testing. Stronger unemployment insurance and food security initiatives. These are common-sense policies that we, as a nation, need to implement to confront the growing pandemic.

House Democrats just proposed an emergency bill with all of these policies and more, in order to mitigate the human toll of this virus, "flatten the curve" of viral contagion to keep hospitals from getting overwhelmed, and prevent Americans from becoming sick or dying by ensuring access to testing and care. But Mitch McConnell is already saying that these critical, common-sense proposals will be rejected by the Republican majority in the Senate.1

Can you call your representatives in the House and Senate now and demand Congress immediately pass the emergency relief package?

Here's where to call:

  • Rep. Meeks - (202) 225-3461
  • Sen. Schumer - (202) 224-6542
  • Sen. Gillibrand - (202) 224-4451

You can say,

"We need your immediate support for the House's comprehensive relief package in response to the coronavirus epidemic to keep our communities healthy, flatten the curve of the virus, support workers impacted by the virus, and make tests and care freely available and accessible."

The proposed legislation from House Democrats includes:2

  • Paid emergency leave;
  • Free and expanded access to coronavirus testing;
  • Stronger unemployment insurance and food security initiatives.

Can you pick up the phone and call your members of Congress today to demand that every member of Congress, from both parties, support the bill to provide health and economic security to all of us—immediately?

Here's where to call:

  • Rep. Meeks - (202) 225-3461
  • Sen. Schumer - (202) 224-6542
  • Sen. Gillibrand - (202) 224-4451

Tell your elected representatives to do their jobs and vote for legislation that will protect our communities.

Thanks for all you do.
