Wednesday: Stand Against Donald Trump's Hate in Long Island

Donald Trump is bringing his hate and bigotry to Long Island.

Dear fellow MoveOn member,

Tomorrow, Donald Trump is coming to Long Island and we refuse to stand idly by or allow our hometown to be a host for hate.

Will you join local Long Islanders tomorrow, Wednesday, April 5 at 4:30 p.m. for a peaceful protest to stand against Trump’s hate?

Trump has treated large swaths of the American people with disrespect and contempt. He’s made outrageous comments about immigrants, Muslims, and women.

That is why we are choosing to use our right to assemble freely to protest Trump’s hate and rhetoric in Long Island.

As has been the case for the past few weeks, Trump's schedule and the location of his rally were only just announced. That's why we're reaching out to you now to invite you to join us.

Join me in standing non-violently against Trump’s bigotry and hate tomorrow, Wednesday, April 5 at 4:30 p.m. in Bethpage.

This is a grassroots demonstration being led by local groups in Long Island including Long Island Progressive Coalition, Eastern Long Island NAACP, Long Island Immigrant Alliance, and more. We will begin gathering at 4:30 p.m. outside of Grumman Studio. We will stand together for a nonviolent, peaceful demonstration—a show of solidarity against Trump's violence-inciting rhetoric.

By choosing to attend this event, you are acknowledging the risks involved and committing that you intend to participate in a nonviolent way and work to de-escalate potential confrontations with Trump supporters or others.

We refuse to be a home for hate. And we will continue working to stop Trump and the racism and xenophobia he perpetuates. Will you come stand against hate and bigotry tomorrow?

Yes, I will be there!

Thanks for all you do.
