Reminder: Ready to Resist call TONIGHT!

In honor of the one-year anniversary of Ready to Resist, we will be hosting our first call of 2018 TONIGHT at 8 p.m. ET (7 CT/6 MT/5 PT) LIVE from the Women's March "Power to the Polls" national voter registration tour kickoff in Las Vegas.

Dear Eddie,

The Ready to Resist call—our series of national organizing calls—is back, and we are celebrating our one-year anniversary TODAY with a very special and urgent mass organizing call.

Because you've subscribed to the Ready to Resist call series, we'll call you tonight, January 21, at 8 p.m. ET (7 CT/6 MT/5 PT) to join the national organizing call being held live from the Las Vegas launch of the Women's March "Power to the Polls" voter registration campaign! Just answer the phone to connect to the call, or stream the call at moveon.org/ReadyToResist.

With news breaking late Friday night that Republicans have caused a government shutdown by refusing to protect nearly 800,000 Dreamers from deportations, it is more urgent than ever for our movement to come together to organize, fight back against the racist Republican agenda, and work hard to take back power in Washington later this year.

On this Sunday's call, we will discuss updates on the shutdown and what you can do next week to join Dreamers in action and hold Republicans accountable, and we will also give updates on MoveOn's Resist and Win election campaign and much, much more! (Take a look below for the email we sent earlier this week about the call.)

We'll be joined on the call by

  • Bob Bland, Linda Sarsour, and Nina Turner from the Women's March;
  • Nelini Stamp from the Working Families Party;
  • Jennifer Epps-Addison from the Center for Popular Democracy;
  • Victoria Kaplan from MoveOn;
  • Our friends at Peoples Action, National Domestic Workers Alliance, and Daily Kos and;
  • Councilwoman Crystal Murillo, who was elected to the Aurora, Colorado city council in 2017.

If you'd like to join the call, you don't need to take any action now; just mark your calendar to receive a phone call from the 202 area code tonight at about 8 p.m. ET (7 CT/6 MT/5 PT)! If you'd prefer to listen via your computer, just visit moveon.org/readytoresist at 8 p.m. ET (7 CT/6 MT/5 PT) tonight, Sunday, January 21.

If you'd like to RSVP for the call with a different phone number than the one you may have originally RSVP'd with, click here to update your subscription on this form.

If you know you can't join the call, not a problem; no action is needed.

And please help spread the word about the call!

Dear MoveOn member,

One year ago, we hosted the inaugural “Ready to Resist” national organizing call, with the goal of providing resources for people around the country preparing to fight back against Donald Trump’s agenda.

We thought 1,000 people would attend (our original draft agenda even had that number written down as our goal!). Instead, over 60,000 people joined that first call the night after the inspirational Women's March—and helped to break a Guinness World Record! Hundreds of thousands have joined the 15 we have hosted since—learning everything from how to fight back against attacks on health care, to how to confront racism in our communities.

In honor of the one-year anniversary of Ready to Resist and celebrating the anniversary of the historic Women's March, we will be hosting our first call of 2018 this Sunday at 8 p.m. ET (7 CT/6 MT/5 PT) LIVE from the Women’s March “Power to the Polls” national voter registration tour kickoff in Las Vegas.

Click here to RSVP! (You'll register online, then receive a call at the number you provide shortly before Sunday's call begins—or you'll be able to listen online.)

On this Sunday’s call, we will …

  • Discuss the political state of play heading into the 2018 midterms with our Ready to Resist partners the Working Families Party, People's Action, and the Center for Popular Democracy.
  • Give an update on MoveOn’s Resist and Win election campaign, the tactics and tools we will use to help support hundreds of progressive candidates around the country, and how you can get involved.
  • Hear from representatives of the Women’s March who will share details about their Power to the Polls campaign, a national voter registration tour that will target swing states to register and engage voters and help elect women and progressives around the country.
  • And much, much more!

Click here to RSVP to this Sunday’s call!

2018 will be the most important test for our movement. At this moment, we are facing a major showdown over the DACA program, with the lives of nearly 800,000 young people hanging in the balance—and by Sunday we will know if we've secured the Dream Act, whether Democrats have stood their ground and demanded a deal, or even if Donald Trump and the Republicans in Congress have gone so far as to shut down the federal government to support Trump's aggressive deportation agenda.

It has never been more important for us to come together and fight back. This year, we have the chance to take back power in Washington, create a real firewall to stop Trump’s agenda, and hold elected officials around the country accountable for their actions. But we have a lot of work to do to get there.

And it won’t be possible without a massive, energized movement of people around the country organizing in their communities, raising their voices, and marching all the way to the polls. Will you join us?

Thanks for all you do.
