Sign the petition re: AT&T and remote schooling

Add your signature to call on AT&T to help millions of kids get access to education.

Dear MoveOn member,

As the United States continues to battle the COVID-19 pandemic, students across the country are participating in remote education.

Distance learning is hard enough, but for 9 million kids without reliable internet access, remote schooling is nearly impossible.1

"When the pandemic shut the U.S. down, students living in historically marginalized communities — where challenges have been exacerbated by generations of systemic racism, classism and inadequate funding of their schools — faced the biggest blow," said Elic Senter, manager of education, policy, and practice at the National Education Association. "Far too many students don't have the technology and internet access they need to continue learning at home. One in five low-income students have no online access at home."2

AT&T, one of the largest internet providers in the U.S, had been offering internet to qualifying limited-income households at $10 per month through its "Access from AT&T" program and waiving data overage fees, but the offer expires September 30—just as the school year is ramping up.3,4

Add your signature to call on AT&T to extend its offer of $10-per-month high-speed internet and no data overage fees through the end of the year to help millions of kids get access to education.

All children deserve an education. Sign the petition to urge AT&T to provide affordable internet to the millions of kids who desperately need it for remote schooling.
