Defeat this pathetic coward

The New York Times says that we have a 56% chance of taking back the Senate on Election Day.

Dear MoveOn member,

The New York Times says that we have a 56% chance of taking back the Senate on Election Day.1 I’d call those roll-up-your-sleeves fighting odds, wouldn’t you?

If you’re ready to roll up your sleeves with me, can you chip in just $3 right now to expand MoveOn’s on-the-ground efforts in eight battleground states—including seven with key Senate races we can win?

Yes, I’ll join you and MoveOn in hot pursuit of a Democratic majority in the U.S. Senate come Election Day.

(MoveOn needs to make its final decision about how many swing-state organizers to hire in the next week, and that decision depends on how much its team raises today through Labor Day. So now's the time to give.)

Just the thought of Donald Trump winning the White House is enough for us to give it our all. Donald Trump has opened a door to such ugliness—but enough Americans are turned off that we have a real chance to take back the Senate.

And there’s more: An increasing number of House seats are also now in play.2 In fact, political experts say that if Trump falls in the polls by just a little more, Democrats could take back the House as well.3

MoveOn’s grassroots organizing has helped get us this far. But with stakes this high and poll margins as tight as they are, this is no time to sit on the sidelines.

I’m not letting up for one second from now until Election Day, and I hope you’ll be with us all the way to the end.

We have 69 days. Sixty-nine days to win the White House, take back the Senate, maybe even the House—and, with the Supreme Court hanging in the balance, change the future of our nation for a generation. But there are only a few days left for MoveOn to figure out how many doors it will be able to knock on, how many conversations its team will be able to have, and how many voters it will be able to reach.

Can you chip in $3 right now and help expand the number of people MoveOn’s team will be able to reach?

Yes! I’m with you and MoveOn! I’ll join this sprint to the finish line.

Have you caught news of MoveOn’s Senate endorsements this election cycle? Eight powerhouse women in a group of 11, alongside progressive champions like Russ Feingold. Now that’s what I’m talking about.

Imagine the Senate with MoveOn-endorsed Democratic candidate Patty Judge instead of Republican Senator Chuck Grassley—the senator who has devoted himself to blocking President Obama’s Supreme Court nominees at all costs. If we win there, we’ll be one step closer to a fully-functioning Supreme Court, and we'll have a fighter for free community college.

And that's just the beginning of what will be possible as MoveOn also helps rocket women like Illinois Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth, California Attorney General Kamala Harris, and Nevada's Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto to victory in November.

Come on! Can you help make sure these amazing women become the foundation of a progressive Senate A-Team?

Yes. I'm in. I’ll help take back the Senate by chipping in $3 now.

Donald Trump is weighing down the shoulders (and poll numbers) of vulnerable Republican senators like Wisconsin’s Ron Johnson and Pennsylvania’s Pat Toomey. Even long-time Senator John McCain is facing the toughest election of his career.4

For far too long, Republicans have blocked every single good faith effort Democrats have pushed to expand opportunity for regular Americans. They’ve made it possible for Wall Street bankers to run our economy and for giant corporations to ship jobs overseas.

Not only do the Republicans deserve to lose, they deserve to lose big—to be swamped by a giant progressive wave election.

Click here now to invest $3 in MoveOn's proven 1-2-3 formula for success.

Here it is:

  • Hire a team of highly-skilled field organizers who will mobilize thousands of passionate volunteers to knock on hundreds of thousands of critical, targeted voters’ doors in key election states. (And I know from personal experience that this is the single most important strategy MoveOn can deploy.)
  • Create more breakthrough videos and ads—game-changing digital content that will be seen and shared hundreds of millions of times.
  • Mobilize key groups—like veterans—who can shine a spotlight on GOP Senate candidates’ shameful support for Donald Trump at the expense of their friends, family, and neighbors.

All-out grassroots work like this takes real money. MoveOn has already invested millions of dollars in its election program. With the Senate and some key House races in play, MoveOn is perfectly poised to quickly scale up its work—as long as enough of us chip in right now, before Labor Day.

Look, I’m going to level with you—and I know some of you may not like what I have to say.

You can bet Republicans are hoping that progressives won’t get our act together. That we won’t work our hearts out for Hillary Clinton. That we won’t seize the opportunity that’s right in front of us to stop Donald Trump’s hatred and build a Trump-proof Democratic firewall in the Senate.

That’s why MoveOn’s work is so darn critical right now, and it’s why I’m so invested personally in MoveOn’s United Against Hate election campaign.

MoveOn members were and remain a central force in my campaign for the Senate and in Bernie Sanders’ campaign. And it’s because of your grit—and your passion to fight for real and lasting change—that I know MoveOn and its members are critical to winning on Election Day.

Equally important, our country needs MoveOn to help lead the post-election charge for a government and economy that work in the best interest of all Americans, not only the rich and powerful. That charge will be all the more possible if we defeat Trump, take back the Senate, and make meaningful gains in the House.

Let's all join forces with MoveOn and make it happen. Together. Click here to chip in $3, or whatever you can afford.

Thanks for all you do.

–Elizabeth Warren

P.S. In the end, there are really only two words (that are email-appropriate) that sum up Donald Trump: pathetic coward. Donald Trump can’t handle the fact that he’s losing to a woman. A woman with steady hands, thick skin, and a long commitment to children’s rights, women’s rights, and human rights. A woman who’s infinitely more qualified than he’ll ever hope to be. Boy, am I looking forward to our nation moving way beyond Trump’s divisive ugliness, once we hand him a resounding defeat on Election Day. Please chip in $3 now.
