Dear fellow MoveOn member,
Here are some jaw-dropping statistics that you and I have to turn around: Only 65% of Democrats say they're sure they'll vote this year—which is lower than it's been in decades. And it’s eleven points lower than the 76% of Republicans who say they're certain to vote.1
With Hillary Clinton ahead by an average of just 3.7 points in the most recent polls, this gap in who plans to vote is more than large enough to cost Clinton the election.2
That's why my friends at MoveOn are focused on turning out voters who are not yet sure they'll vote this year.
MoveOn was a crucial part of President Obama’s legendary get-out-the-vote successes in 2008 and 2012. This year, they're running a massive get-out-the-vote operation in eight battleground states that will decide the election. And because MoveOn isn't part of a political party, they have the ability to connect with voters who have reservations about Clinton or aren't convinced their vote really matters.
But with just 34 days until Election Day, MoveOn still needs to raise $480,000 this week to pull it all off. It's crunch time. Can you chip in $2.70 now?
Yes, I’m in! I’ll chip in now.
Just 47% of millennials say they'll definitely vote this year—down 11 points from 2012, when young voters were Obama's largest voting bloc and provided his margin of victory in four battleground states.3,4
But here's the good news: Research has proven time and again that knocking on doors and having one-on-one conversations with voters works. In fact, it's the most effective way to boost turnout.5
MoveOn has been innovating this neighbor-to-neighbor get-out-the-vote strategy since way back in 2004, and they’ve been perfecting the model in elections since then.
This year, MoveOn's team of organizers is recruiting and training tens of thousands of volunteers to knock on more than a million doors in the most crucial battleground states.
Please, chip in $2.70—or what you can afford—now. The stakes are so high.
You know as well as I do what a threat Donald Trump is—not just to progressives, but to the entire country (and really, the world). He's a narcissistic, misogynistic, xenophobic megalomaniac with fascist tendencies, and has the temperament of a bullying teenager and the character of a barnyard snake.
And while last week has been a disaster for Trump, and people are breathing a sigh of relief, the hard reality is that this race could go either way depending on voter turnout. That’s why MoveOn’s massive voter turnout operation is so vital. But it’s only possible with your support. Will you chip in $2.70 now?
Thanks for all you do.

Want to support our work? Senator Elizabeth Warren says, "I'm so enthusiastic about MoveOn's smart and targeted plan to hire a network of organizers in key battleground states to mobilize and train volunteers to knock on hundreds of thousands of doors. It's bold and ambitious—and exactly what is needed to help swing Senate races, resoundingly defeat Donald Trump, and give Democrats a fighting chance to take back the House." Will you chip in to help make it all possible?
