Dear fellow MoveOn member,
My name is Bradley Davidson, and I'm from Birmingham, Alabama. My neighbors and the people of Alabama—powered by an influential turnout of African-American voters and a strong rebuke to the GOP's racist voter suppression efforts—spoke up in favor of Doug Jones last night. We also spoke out against the GOP's attempts to strip health care from millions while giving massive tax breaks to the wealthiest 1% and large corporations.
But now Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell plans to stop us from being heard—choosing to swear in Jones next year rather than immediately so Republicans can jam through the GOP's awful tax legislation that will hurt the people of Alabama.1
