Dear MoveOn member,
Under Trumpcare, 24 million Americans would lose health care, according to the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office.1
This bill is so awful that the uninsured rate would be worse than it was before the Affordable Care Act was even passed. Here's what that would look like:
Will you pick up the phone and urge your Democratic Senators Charles E. Schumer and Kirsten E. Gillibrand to do everything possible to stop Trumpcare? Here's where to call:
- Sen. Schumer - (202) 224-6542
- Sen. Gillibrand - (202) 224-4451
When you call, say something like:
"I'm a constituent and a voter in New York, and I'm calling to urge the senator to do everything possible to resist and defeat Donald Trump's American Health Care Act, which would take away health care from 24 million Americans."

Our best chance to stop this travesty is in the Senate. Because Republican unity is crumbling, and if just three Republican senators vote against the repeal bill, then there won't be enough votes for it to pass. And as of last night, more than fifty Republican lawmakers had expressed serious concerns about the bill.2
But Democrats like Sens. Schumer and Gillibrand have a huge role to play, too. Democrats need to take a leadership role and make it clear that this bill would be devastating for tens of millions of Americans. They need to urge their Republican colleagues to vote no. And while we expect Democrats to oppose this bill, all Democratic senators need to make sure that none of their colleagues—not even a single Democrat in the Senate—breaks ranks and supports this awful bill, should it come to the Senate floor.
Please call now.
Thanks for all you do.
