Dear New York MoveOn member,
We're in an extraordinary moment. All across the country, people are standing up against Donald Trump's dangerous and regressive right-wing ideas and demanding action at all levels of government to make our communities safer and more just.
To sustain this broad resistance to Trump and protect our families, neighbors, and communities, MoveOn members across all 50 states—including New York—need to take the lead.
That's where you come in.
By using MoveOn's open and free tools, you can create your very own petition to your mayor, governor, members of Congress, the New York legislature, and even local businesses to resist the worst of Trump and the GOP's agenda and stand up for immigrants, economic justice, equality, and other progressive ideas and policies you care about.
Petitions can be powerful building blocks for broader resistance organizing efforts. Signatures can be delivered to decision-makers, highlighted to media outlets, and circulated online to raise awareness and grow our progressive community. And the MoveOn members who sign your petition can be engaged in your ongoing work at the community, state, or even national level.
We'll be here to assist you, from helping to build support for your petition by connecting you to other MoveOn members to reimbursing you for printing costs if you choose to deliver your petition in person (one of the best ways to get your message heard and make an impact).
Thanks for all you do.
—Corinne, Maria, Alex, Erica, and the rest of the team
