Dear MoveOn member,
We're teaming up with our friends at the Progressive Change Campaign Committee to host a special emergency conference call TONIGHT featuring Senators Elizabeth Warren and Chuck Schumer, who will lay out the Senate Democrats' strategy for stopping Republicans from dismantling the Affordable Care Act and discuss the role all of us can play.
Click here to RSVP for tonight's call that will start at 10 p.m. ET/9 CT/8 MT/7 PT, and we'll send you the dial-in information.
Senate Democrats are going to hold the Senate floor late into the night tonight, to fight against Republican efforts to repeal the Affordable Care Act. Tonight's Senate action will challenge Republicans to not "Make America Sick Again"—and is a sign that Democrats are gearing up to resist the Trump/Republican agenda with every tool at their disposal.
Already, MoveOn members have flooded Senate offices with phone calls and attended speak-outs at Senate offices around the country to tell Republicans, "Don't take away our health care." Now, we are gearing up to fight the nomination of Tom Price who is committed to repealing the ACA and attacking Medicare and Medicaid as head of Health and Human Services.
This is the first big fight of 2017 against the Trump and Republican legislative agenda. It's imperative that we give it our all so that Trump and the GOP experience the full force of progressive organizing. We'll all need to keep up the pressure to keep Democrats united in defense of health care and push a few Republicans to stop plans that would strip health care from tens of millions of Americans.
Tonight's late-night debate is one sign that Democrats are ready to fight. Join us on tonight's call to hear more about their plans and ours.
Click here to RSVP, and join us on tonight's call at 10 ET/ 9 CT / 8 MT / 7 PT.
Thanks for all you do.
