Dear MoveOn member,
Tomorrow night—Wednesday, October 3—all across the country, Americans will come together in peaceful vigils to demand that the U.S. Senate stop Judge Brett Kavanaugh's confirmation to a lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court.
We are in a critical moment as the Senate could vote on the motion to close debate any day—and the final vote could come as soon as Friday, even before or just hours after the FBI report is made public.
This fight would've already been over—but Dr. Christine Blasey Ford's courage and commitment, along with the tenacious efforts of grassroots activists, helped open this brief window. We need to make noise—and lots of it—on Wednesday night to create pressure on the entire Senate and send a clear message to particular senators whose votes could be decisive in this fight.
We saw protests have impact last week, helping to delay the full Senate vote and forcing the FBI investigation. Now it's time to escalate the pressure. As brave protesters—including survivors of sexual assault—flood the Senate office buildings,
can you help build pressure nationally?
Are you a law student? Get a few classmates together and organize a vigil at your law school. Invite the campus newspaper.
Are you a college or high school student? Same!
Do you work at a law firm or a courthouse? Gather a few colleagues and hold your vigil outside your office or a nearby busy street corner.
Are you a parent? Bring your kids to a central location, like outside the library, and invite their friends' families.
Are you part of a local organization? Bring them out. The Supreme Court impacts all of our issues.
Kavanaugh has shown that he is hostile to women—from his record against women's health and autonomy to his record against workplace protections to the sexual assault allegations against him to the anger he displayed. Kavanaugh has shown that he has no credibility: He has lied repeatedly in confirmation hearings spanning two decades, and he lied again in his testimony regarding Dr. Blasey Ford's credible allegation of sexual assault. Now is the time for all of us to come together and tell our senators to believe women and stop Kavanaugh this week—and to show the country that women, and all of us, will hold Republicans accountable on November 6.
Kavanaugh would rule for a generation against reproductive freedom, health care, the environment, voting rights, workers' rights, LGBTQ rights, and immigrant rights, while siding with big corporations, Big Money, and the Trump agenda. And we can't let the White House rush and hamper an FBI investigation. The survivors who have stepped forward in recent weeks deserve better, as do we all.
Senators in all 50 states must listen to their constituents, do their jobs to uphold the will of the people, protect the soul of our country and Constitution, and block this nomination. Together, we will fight to ensure Brett Kavanaugh never gets confirmed by the Senate. We will #StopKavanaugh.
Thanks for all you do.

Here is what Michael Moore has to say about MoveOn: "MoveOn is working around the clock to help organize and turn out volunteers to get out the vote in November. I know that MoveOn members like you are moving heaven and earth to win this election. We're the majority. But we need to rise up. That's the only way out of this mess." Will you chip in $3 a week to help win this election? (MoveOn will contact you shortly after Election Day to see if you want to modify or cancel your donation.)
Yes, I'll chip in weekly.
No, I'm sorry, I can't make a weekly donation.
