Dear MoveOn member,
Senators Susan Collins and Joe Manchin just announced that they will vote for Brett Kavanaugh.1 It's now highly likely that he'll be confirmed to the Supreme Court—though this isn't over until all of the votes are actually cast tomorrow.
Kavanaugh's lies under oath, the sham FBI investigation, the testimony from sexual assault survivors who courageously came forward … They didn't care about any of it.
It's infuriating. Disgraceful. Heartbreaking. Now, we need to make Republicans pay.
We will fight Kavanaugh's nomination until the final vote is cast—MoveOn is supporting protests in Washington, D.C. and across the nation that have already begun and are fueling a surge of pressure that will only build through tomorrow.
And then four weeks from now, we will go to the polls and let Republicans know with our votes just what we think of them. MoveOn is running our largest elections campaign ever.
Can't chip in weekly? We still need your help right now.
If you want to scream, or cry, or throw something, you are not alone. There are no words to describe what millions of people all over the country are feeling right now.
But we need to focus these feelings on immediate action, and that means fighting Kavanaugh's nomination until the final vote is cast. And then, no matter what happens, we must make Republicans pay a once-in-a-generation political price.
This upcoming election is a referendum on Donald Trump's and the GOP's misogyny, corruption, and giveaways to the rich. Trump thinks that by attacking sexual assault survivors, he can actually increase turnout from his base and help his GOP cronies win the election. We must prove him wrong.
Between now and Election Day, we will reach millions of voters to get out the vote and make Republicans pay for their disgraceful behavior. Here's just some of what's underway:
- We're coordinating hundreds of "Wave Volunteer" events in crucial swing districts to make phone calls, knock on doors, and provide the essential shoe-leather campaign support that Democrats need to win.
- Our video production team is running a cutting-edge voter-persuasion project called "Real Voter Voices," allowing regular folks to record and upload videos talking about why they support their local candidates—and then using highly targeted social media analytics to show those videos to the people who are most likely to be persuaded.
- Our army of volunteers is sending text messages to millions of voters to drive them to get-out-the-vote events nationwide.
It's OK to feel angry. It's OK to feel hurt. In fact, if we can focus those feelings on making a change in November, this could be the moment that ends Republican control in Washington. Will you chip in $3 a week?
No, I'm sorry, I can't make a weekly donation.
Thanks for all you do.

How do MoveOn weekly donations work? Weekly donations are a new type of donation that we're testing during election season! If you sign up to make a weekly donation through MoveOn, your weekly contribution will be billed once per month to your credit card, today and on the same day of every month going forward. To determine your monthly contribution amount, we will multiply the weekly amount of your donation by 4.34—the average number of weeks per month. You can cancel, modify, or request a full or partial refund of your recurring donation at any time. If you sign up to make a weekly donation, we will contact you by email shortly after Election Day to see if you want to modify or cancel your donation.
