Your 2018 endorsements

MoveOn members have voted to endorse over 100 candidates for Congress

Dear MoveOn member,

District by district over the past four months, MoveOn members have been doing something that can profoundly transform Congress and America: voting to endorse a dynamic, bold, and diverse slate of over 100 U.S. House candidates who can end GOP control of Congress and fundamentally reshape American politics.

And not just any candidates, either. MoveOn members are fired up and ready to support candidates who'll stand up to Trump's attacks on our communities, then push for the bold, progressive agenda we need to take on a rigged economic and political system: recognizing that health care is a human right, with proposals such as Medicare for All; standing with immigrants by demanding a clean Dream Act, an end to Trump's Muslim Ban, an end to ICE's excesses, and the reunification of families; driving toward a progressive foreign policy; getting Big Money out of politics; and so much more.

But they can't get elected without you. That's why MoveOn is ramping up a huge national volunteer program to help MoveOn members like you get these candidates elected.

These candidates will swell the ranks of the newly formed Medicare for All Caucus and Expand Social Security Caucus. They will stand up to the NRA, Wall Street, private prison profiteers, Big Oil, and so many more of the lobbyists that push the Trump Republican agenda.

It's no secret that right now, too much of Congress is stale, male, and way too pale. But not MoveOn's endorsed candidates. Check out a few of them below:

100 House Candidates Endorsements

This crop of candidates is truly historic and is primed to change our country in massive ways if elected.

They're more representative of America.

  • 60% are women (compared to 20% in the current House)
  • 33% are people of color (compared to 24% in the current House)
  • 10% are openly LGBTQ
  • 11% are veterans
  • 2 will be the first-ever Muslim women in Congress

They're younger and not tied to Washington.

  • 36% are 40 or younger
  • 66% are 50 or younger
  • 71% are first-time candidates

They are people like:

Colin Allred in TX-32  "We deserve leaders who will take on the fights that matter to us: building an economy that works for everyone, ensuring affordable housing and health care, and guaranteeing a quality education for every child."

Lauren Underwood in IL-14  "I'm running for Congress because I believe this moment in history requires courageous people to stand up and fight to restore our voice in Washington."

Andy Kim in NJ-03 — "2018 is going to be about all of us standing up and working together for what we believe in to find common ground and build a government that serves the people."

Katie Porter in CA-45  "I took on Wall Street during the housing crisis and won, saving billions for California homeowners. In Congress, I'll stand up to powerful special interests and leaders of both parties."

And you can learn about all 106 of them by visiting moveon.org/candidates.

This is how we'll fight back against Trump's attacks on our communities and his attempts to divide us, and it's how we'll take on the rigged political and economic system that benefits billionaires and leaves so many of us behind: by lifting up and electing candidates who represent the diversity of our movement, then pushing them to uphold the vision of inclusive and progressive principles.

MoveOn members endorsed these candidates, district by district. Now, together, we are raising money for them. We are telling our friends about them. We are recording videos that MoveOn is using in a groundbreaking program to persuade folks to vote for them. We are sending thousands of text messages for them. And we are showing up every week and weekend at volunteer-led Waves to knock on doors, make calls, and send text messages to get out the vote for them.

You can find out about a Wave near you here: moveon.org/waves.

That's what it's going to take to build a country where everyone can thrive: MoveOn members like you and me hitting the streets, hitting the phones, speaking out online and offline, and chipping in where we can.

The midterm elections are incredibly soon. We are facing unprecedented challenges as a nation, and the stakes are impossibly highfor our families and for generations to come. But as MoveOn members, our power is incredible. I believein fact, I knowthat our community can and will move mountains to get these candidates into office.

Just 35 days until we change our country forever.

Thanks for all you do.

Here is what Michael Moore has to say about MoveOn: "MoveOn is working around the clock to help organize and turn out volunteers to get out the vote in November. I know that MoveOn members like you are moving heaven and earth to win this election. We're the majority. But we need to rise up. That's the only way out of this mess." Will you chip in weekly and help win this election? (MoveOn will contact you shortly after Election Day to see if you want to modify or cancel your donation.)

Yes, I'll chip in $3 a week.

No, I'm sorry, I can't make a weekly donation.
