Mar, there are dire and dangerous consequences when we allow the GOP to win without even putting up a fight.
And we're seeing those dire consequences play out right now in real time.
This year alone, the GOP has introduced more than 250 pieces of legislation to make it harder to vote.2 And in many states, the GOP has supermajorities that allow them to pass any piece of legislation they desire.
But it's not just attacks on our democracy. The right wing has used their long-held supermajorities to attack abortion rights. In the last decade, GOP-run state legislatures have passed more than 400 laws aimed at restricting access to abortion.3
Of the local elections that Republicans win, 70% have no challenger.4 It's time we fight back. And it's time we stop letting the GOP win elections and stroll into office without even challenging them.
