The American people elected a Democratic president, a Democratic House majority, and a Democratic Senate majority.
They sent us to Washington to get big things done—not to be held hostage by Mitch McConnell. But right now, he's got veto power over so much of the bold action we need to take.
How? Two words: the filibuster—a procedural loophole that lets a minority of senators block bills that have the broad support of the American people.
That's why I'm partnering with MoveOn on a big and urgent push to finally get rid of the filibuster so we can pass the kind of big, structural change that we need. It's the only way we can tackle all the crises that our country is facing.

Understand this: The filibuster gives veto power to Mitch McConnell. And to the gun industry. And to the oil industry. For generations, the filibuster was used as a tool to block progress on racial justice. It was used to block anti-lynching laws and civil rights bills. It's still blocking progress today. It's got to go.
