You're going to want to say you were part of this

Don't miss the bring-it-on-home push in the election of our lifetime.

Dear Eddie,

This is actor and activist Alyssa Milano. I've been giving my all to fight for health care, stop Brett Kavanaugh, and raise the voices of the #MeToo movement, and for the next 18 days, I am laser-focused on winning midterm elections.

Because on November 6, I'm aching to end the Republican majority in Congress that has tried to repeal or sabotage the Affordable Care Act (ACA) dozens of times in the past few years.

That's why I'm thrilled about MoveOn's midterm election work—the biggest, most audacious and effective midterm program in its 20-year history.

Right now and through Election Day, MoveOn members across the nation are hitting the streets and the phones to make sure voters in more than a hundred key congressional districts understand that a vote for a Republican candidate essentially means a vote to increase costs and repeal protections for 130 million people with pre-existing conditions.

And we're not having any more of that GOP nonsense.

There's an important "health care Wave" near you in Brooklyn on Sunday—an opportunity to join fellow MoveOn members, talk to voters in person, and help swing a key seat that will help decide control of Congress. Will you click here for more information and to sign up?

With 18 days to the midterm elections, here's a radical question:

What if taking part in MoveOn's Waves of election organizing next week is one way we protect each other in this Trump era, one way that we say to ourselves, our friends, and our families that we know our political system is broken, but our communities are not?

We stood together to defeat Trumpcare. That's a reminder of what we can accomplish together. And yet Republicans continue to mercilessly attack the Affordable Care Act, attack protections for pre-existing conditions, and attack our families and communities.

Our communities are worth fighting for. Winning for. And organizing as nonstop as we're able to between now and November 6 is what it's going to take to win.

Don't miss the bring-it-on-home push in the election of our lifetime. Trust me: You're going to want to say you were part of this.

For goodness sake, the vast majority of Americans SUPPORT Medicare for All and yet Trump and Republicans in Congress are determined to keep prices high and hurt working families in order to do the bidding of big-moneyed health care lobbyists.

What's worse, many of them are frankly chicken-hearted and duplicitous and are trying to hide their tracks so constituents won't understand the full measure of why we need to vote them out.

Oh no they don't.

Thanks to MoveOn members like you, Eddie, they're going to fail at their cover-up efforts—just as they've failed in their relentless attempts to take away our health care and protections for folks with pre-existing conditions.

When my daughter gets a little older, I want to tell her that I was part of this election surge.

Part of the force of people that took back our Congress. That created and protected quality, affordable health care for millions.

Since this summer, MoveOn members have organized hundreds of events, driven tens of thousands of calls for progressive champions, and so much more.

Be part of this. Join me in signing up for a MoveOn action on Sunday.

Because if you throw down now and hit the streets or phones, on November 7, neither of us will wake up with regrets that we didn't do more.

Far from it. If we organize now, on November 7, you and I—and our families—will have earned a reason to feel hopeful.

And I know you want to feel hopeful as much as I do.

Let's go for it.

Thanks for all you do.

–Alyssa Milano

P.S. Don't you listen to election forecasts telling you that winning in November is in the bag. That makes me nuts. The only way we're going to win in November is if we do what we know works. And what works is hitting the streets for candidates we believe in who can prevail with our help—and work to send the GOP packing. Check out the great MoveOn event near you.

Here is what Michael Moore has to say about MoveOn: "MoveOn is working around the clock to help organize and turn out volunteers to get out the vote in November. I know that MoveOn members like you are moving heaven and earth to win this election. We're the majority. But we need to rise up. That's the only way out of this mess." Will you chip in $3 a week to help win this election? (MoveOn will contact you shortly after Election Day to see if you want to modify or cancel your donation.)

Yes, I'll chip in weekly.

No, I'm sorry, I can't make a weekly donation.
